Our Story

Serving Gainesville and Surrounding Communities since 1990, our mission at Town & Country Veterinarians and Pet Resort is to help your pets live happier, healthier lives by providing exceptional quality medical and surgical care in a compassionate environment. 

What began as a vision for modern, state-of-the-art veterinary care has grown into a full-service veterinary hospital, boarding facility, and doggie day camp, serving Gainesville and surrounding areas.  

Throughout our growth, we’ve remained committed to ensuring pets and their families receive individual attention and customized treatment plans in a comfortable, caring environment.

Dr. Terry Tomlin

Dr. Terry Tomlin

Veterinarian

Dr. Terry Tomlin is a University of Florida graduate and a founding veterinarian of Town & Country Veterinarians, where he helped establish one of Gainesville’s early house-call practices before expanding into a full-service animal hospital. His approach to veterinary medicine is rooted in a strong belief in preventative care and overall wellness to support longer, healthier lives for pets. 

Dr. Tomlin has extensive experience in surgery, emergency care, and the treatment of a wide range of species, including reptiles, amphibians, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, rodents, and birds. He provides thoughtful, comprehensive care while strengthening the bond between pets and their families. 

Outside the clinic, Dr. Tomlin enjoys traveling, organic gardening, fishing, and spending time at the beach.

Dr. Emily Moser

Dr. Emily Moser

Veterinarian

Dr. Emily Moser (She/Her) earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. She began her career practicing general medicine in upstate New York before returning to Florida to be closer to family. 

Dr. Moser is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and takes the time to guide clients through their options to support informed decision-making. Her professional interests include preventative care, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and internal medicine, with additional experience managing conditions such as diabetes, kidney disease, and dermatologic concerns. She is also trained in low-stress handling techniques to create a more comfortable experience for both patients and their families. 

Outside the clinic, Dr. Moser lives with her husband, Nathan, and their cats, Salad and Rutabaga. She enjoys spending time with friends and is always happy to give extra attention to puppies and kittens.

Dr. Kristen Howard

Dr. Kristen Howard

Veterinarian

Dr. Kristen Howard was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and developed a passion for veterinary medicine at a young age. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology from the University of Florida before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Midwestern University in Arizona. 

Dr. Howard has experience providing care through mobile clinics, including surgical services for underserved communities. She is committed to delivering individualized, high-quality care and values to build long-lasting relationships with her clients. Her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and preventative care, with a focus on creating a positive experience for both patients and their families. 

Outside the clinic, Dr. Howard enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and traveling with her husband, Josh. She also shares her home with their cat, Onyx.
